Golfers will be pro and non pro golfers

For pro golfers accustomed to walking to the beat of their own drum, the team format can be unsettling. Tiger Woods, in particular, seems agitated whenever he plays in a team competition. And the Americans, in general, appear less inspired than their counterparts, especially the Europeans at the Ryder Cup.

The Lovell High School boys golf team had a strong tune-up for the State Meet this weekend with a 22-point margin of victory at Moorcroft. Lovell scored 645 points to win the 2A meet, finishing ahead of Lusk at 667 points. Wright was third with 681 points.

Tiger golfers edge Panthers link

The Edwardsville High boys' golf team had just what the coach ordered Wednesday afternoon in its dual match with O'Fallon. The Tigers posted five scores in the 30s as they edged the Panthers by six strokes, 146-152, to claim a Southwestern Conference victory at Oak Brook.

Tiffany Wade cards a two day 151 (79, 72) to lead Bears. Hanover, New Hampshire - Coach Mike Harbor's women's golf team opened its 2005 Fall season with a strong fourth place finish in the 17-team Dartmouth Invitational.

Coach Marianne Strozewski's Tomah High School girls golf team finished seventh out of 10 schools in the large division at the Sparta Invitational Saturday. Mackenzie Hoeft was Tomah's top golfer. She fired an 18-hole score of 94 and was the only Tomah golfer to break 100.

The Hayward Hurricanes girls golf team set a new school record team score Monday as they won a four-team nine-hole meet at Chetek. Hayward ran away with the meet with a score of 164, eight strokes better than the old school record of 172.
