Congress has approved the final land purchase for the 3,850-acre Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge. A spending bill, which passed the House on Thursday and the Senate on Friday, appropriates $421,000 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund for the purchase.

In Texas, a new law restricting the sale of pseudoephedrine will go into effect Monday. Customers will now have to buy the drug from a pharmacist.
