News Virginian No changes coming to district mini-tournaments “You play 18 holes at regional tournaments and 36 at states,” said coach Deb Hedderich of Wilson Memorial. “By playing all of your mini-tournaments in 18-hole rounds, the golfers are able to get used to playing those long games.”
Don’t expect any changes soon to how the Shenandoah and Valley District mini-tournaments are scheduled. Both districts play their mini-tournaments to decide their regular season champions and which team gets berths in the regionals.
