RICHMOND, B.C. (CP) - A white robed padre stood out on the black tarmac at Vancouver's airport Monday, flanked by highlanders in ceremonial dress all training their gaze on the coffin of a war hero. It was wrapped in a gold fringed Canadian flag and carried the remains of Canada's last Victoria Cross winner, Sgt. Ernest (Smoky) Smith. He died at home last week at the age of 91.
